David Gordon

Biography

David Gordon is the co-director of programs for International Rivers, an NGO that protects rivers and the communities that depend on them. He is also a principal consultant at the TERRAMAR Consulting Group, which provides strategic advice to the philanthropic community and nonprofit organizations working to protect the planet’s wildlife. He has spent 25 years working on international conservation issues. From 1992-2010, he worked at Pacific Environment, an NGO dedicated to protecting the North Pacific. At Pacific Environment, he began cooperating with organizations in Siberia and the Russian Far East on environmental protection. He also helped support environmental initiatives in the Arctic, Alaska and China. Gordon first became interested in U.S.-Russian environmental cooperation when he helped host scientists from Lake Baikal in the U.S. in 1990. Gordon studied Russian history at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and is fluent in Russian.
